HHW Engages the Community at Recent Jamaica Fest Event
Hundreds gathered earlier this month to celebrate the rich culture of Jamaica in Silver Spring, Maryland as Healing Hands Worldwide, Inc. (HHW) proudly participated in The Jamaican Embassy’s annual “Jamaica Fest” event that offered attendees the opportunity to taste, feel and experience all that is Jamaica.
With branded giveaways, raffle prizes and key informational materials on hand, Healing Hands Worldwide, Inc. representatives Dr. Erole McLean Hobdy, Founder, and Karen Nelson-Hughes, Executive Director, welcomed visitors to the HHW booth whilst sharing the organizational mission as it relates to the organization’s free cancer medication program, “One-Patient-at-a-Time” and student scholarship initiative “One-Student-at-a-Time,”, updates on our ongoing efforts, and opportunities for community support.
“It was great to be able to engage with Jamaican Nationals living abroad, as well as those with interests in the Caribbean to share information about the important work that we continue to do for the community, as well as network with fellow community-focusedorganizations.” Karen Nelson-Hughes agreed adding: “While interacting with the community virtually may prove to be efficient, nothing beats face-to-face engagement. This event offered us the opportunity to hear the voice of the community first-hand, while further confirmingthe impact that HHW continues to impart well-beyond the patients and students whom we serve.”
